Everything you ever wanted to know about Spoon Fed
How do I contact you? You can reach us by phone at 403-801-1394, or by clicking here to email us.
How does this whole Spoon Fed thing work? We
make three irresistible little batches of soup each week (at least one
of which is vegetarian) and deliver them to your home on Saturdays (north) and Sundays (south) or
your office on Mondays, whichever is easiest for you. Each soup costs
around $10.50 (sometimes a bit more if they cost us more to make). And there’s never a charge for delivery.
What size are your soups? We sell our soup in one-litre jars, which is enough soup for three adult-sized servings (two if you're ravenous).
What kind of soups does Spoon Fed make? Really
good ones. Probably some of the best, if not the best soup you’ve ever
tasted. And they’re good for you. But not the kinda ‘good for you’ that
tastes like sawdust reconstituted. The truth is, in the beginning, we
just set out to make the best tasting soup possible. But since we
insisted on the freshest local ingredients (because they taste better)
and didn’t use all those un-natural stabilizers and preservatives
(because they would actually rob our lovingly prepared broths of
flavour) it turns out that our soups are actually really, really good
for you. We’re not making any health claims here, but loads of people
tell us all the time that they even lose weight when they eat our
soups. That’s the kind of soups we make. Try them. You’ll like them.
Great, where do I sign up?
Right here, just click this link. All we need to know is who you are, where you live and a few other minor details.
How do I order?
Once
you’ve signed up, we’ll start sending you a Weekly Soup Update every
Tuesday. If you would like soup for the week, just follow the links to
our website and place an order. If you do not want soup that week, do
nothing. It's that simple. But order your soups as soon as possible. We
make our soups in small batches and they go fast. Thursday is our
cut-off day. Then on Friday, we head out to the markets for fresh (and
whenever possible locally-produced) ingredients.
How does the delivery work?
If your soup is being delivered to your home:
We deliver on Saturday in the North end of Calgary and on Sunday in the South end of Calgary. On the morning of your delivery, leave a cooler containing the following on your front
steps: an ice pack and your jars from the previous order. Sometime between 8am and 4pm
we'll fill your cooler with fresh, tasty soups.
If your soup is being delivered to your office: We
deliver either Monday or Tuesday (depending on where your office is located) between 9am and 4pm to offices in the downtown core and specified areas.
Where do you deliver?
Global
domination is not our objective. Our delivery area is quite small. It
covers the inner-city neighbourhoods of Calgary. Our apologies to all
you burb-dwellers. Maybe you should consider a move to the inner-city.
It’s great here, we barely drive our cars and our schools need your
kids.
But if you simply must have the soup, and don’t live or work in the
inner-city, talk to a friend who does. Make arrangements to have your
soup dropped off at their house or office. (we find bribing them with
delicious soup helps).
